Dream Job? I think so
You may already know the oh so lovely Nani Poonani - burlesque performer, seamstress, stylist, sultry perfume creator, farm girl and general all around bad ass with a ton of class...and if you don't then you might have been living under a rock for the past couple years. Ooooorr you don't live in Olympia and you really need to get down here for a show! (Note: You can see Nani perform on stages in Tacoma, Seattle and several other northwest locations as well).
Nani and I have been working together on shoots for a little over a year now and she is amazing to work with as a stylist and a photographer. In December she arranged for me to do a shoot with her troupe sisters, Olympia's very own Tush Burlesque, at The Historic Capitol Theatre. Awesome right?! It was so much fun and every one of those ladies amaze me. If you haven't seen a show yet or need to get your next Tush fix you can see them on June 6th at Obsidian.
Back in february Tush put on a fabulous Valentine's Show at The Capitol Theatre. It was one for the books ladies and gentleman..watching this group of ladies grow and evolve over the years has been so much fun! Among many memorable performances, one that I am sure was on everybody's favorite's list, was a duo number with Nani Ponani and one of Tush's newer members, Sly Violet. First off, the song they chose was Nirvana-Where did you sleep last night.... and no true Northwesterner can deny a good Nirvana track ;) That combined with their ultra steamy girl on girl choreography, trousers, fishnets and whiskey oh my! Let's just say it made an impression on the entire audience.
Of course I immediately had to contact Nani and see about doing do a shoot with a similar theme and of course she was gracious enough to pull it together. A few of the results are below. Sly Violet is a wonderful addition to Tush as well as a few other new members this year. Seriously...you need to go see a show!
